Blinn places third overall at Griswold Cattle Classic livestock judging contest

Waco sophomore Kase LeRow places 11th in individual competition

Kase LerowThe Blinn College District livestock judging team placed third overall Friday in the community college division at the Griswold Cattle Classic in Stillwater, Okla.

Blinn scored 2,293 points, just 15 points behind the winning total of 2,308 points by Black Hawk East (Ill.) College.

Members of the Blinn blue team that placed third were Kase LeRow, a sophomore from Waco; John Reaves, a sophomore from Spring, Texas; Kevin Jendrusch, a sophomore from Falls City, Texas; and Will Spicer, a sophomore from Magnolia, Texas.

LeRow finished 11th overall in the individual competition with 469 points. Reaves and Poe each scored 467 points to place 14th.

The Blinn College black team was 17th overall (2,205 points), the gray team was 19th (2,178 points), the purple team placed 20 th (2,178 points), and the white team was 21st (2,171 points).

Blinn will compete next in the Arizona National livestock judging contest in Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 31.

The livestock judging team is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including livestock judging, the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
