Blinn's Kase LeRow takes individual honors at American Royal Livestock Judging Contest

Blinn places sixth overall in team standings

Kase LeRow of the Blinn College livestock judging team has added to his growing list of honors.

LeRow was the top overall individual Monday in the junior college division at the prestigious American Royal Livestock Judging Contest in Kansas City.

A sophomore from Waco, he totaled 952 points to win the overall individual contest. LeRow was first in beef judging, eighth in reasons, 11 th in swine, and 15th in sheep/goats.

So far this season, LeRow has won top overall individual title at the State Fair of Texas and the National Barrow Show.

Blinn placed sixth in the team standings with 4,609 points.

Will Spicer was second in sheep/goat judging and placed 13th in reasons. He placed 24th in the overall individual standings.

Blinn will compete next in the Southern Stockman Collegiate Judging Contest in Lubbock, Texas, on Nov. 6.

The livestock judging team is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including livestock judging, the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
