For the third consecutive year, Blinn College District students will share their original research and cutting-edge innovations with the community during the annual Student Research Celebration.

Student researchers will showcase their projects from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, in the Blinn-Bryan Student Center Lobby. Researchers will present posters describing their work and be available to discuss as their schedules allow.

The come-and-go event is free and open to the public.

A pioneer in community college student research, Blinn encourages students to conduct original research and artistic projects in a number of fields, including chemistry, biology, geography, psychology, humanities, and visual arts. Since 2012, more than 200 Blinn students have participated in research, including several who have traveled across the United States to present their findings at national conferences.

This year’s research celebration will feature presentations from various disciplines across the College, including chemistry, psychology, and biology.

“We want the entire community to see the amazing things our students are doing, and get more students excited about research,” said Joyce Langenegger, Executive Director of Academic Success and coordinator of the conference. “They are doing true research—initiating projects themselves and earning recognition for it. We are excited to offer others an inside look at what our students are accomplishing.”

Registration for Blinn’s May Minimester, Summer I and II, and Fall 2017 semester is now open for all students. For enrollment information and to learn about financial aid opportunities, visit: www.blinn.edu.
