Blinn College District to host two-day financial planning workshop
Financial professionals Stephen McGee and John Anderson will share preparation and planning tips

The Blinn College District will host a two-day financial planning workshop for students and the community Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 7-8, at the Blinn College-Bryan Campus.
The forum will feature presentations from Paragon Financial Advisors Certified Financial Planner and former Texas A&M University quarterback Stephen McGee and Merrill Lynch Certified Retirement Planning Consultant John Anderson.
“This forum is designed to broaden the community’s understanding of financial topics and to help them develop good fundamental practices,” Anderson said.
Topics include:
- financial preparation and goals;
- the importance of saving and investing;
- stocks, bonds, options, and mutual funds;
- market timing vs. time in the market;
- risks and rewards, opportunities and cautions,
- and a practical exercise.
“John and I look forward to sharing practical information that can help individuals better manage their personal finances,” McGee said. “This workshop can serve as the foundation for a well-informed personal finance strategy and help participants develop a long-term plan for their financial future.”
The forum is sponsored by American Momentum Bank and will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the Blinn-Bryan Student Center (Building F). The $50 fee includes lunch and materials. For more information and to register, please call 979-209-7201.
