Tarleton State University and Blinn College will host a series of information sessions regarding the criminal justice and public administration degree programs that will be offered at the RELLIS Campus beginning in the Fall 2018 semester.

Information sessions regarding Tarleton’s criminal justice degree will be held on the Blinn-Bryan Campus from 1:20-2:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, and Wednesday, May 2, in A-221 (map). Students interested in learning more about the university’s public administration degree can attend information sessions held from 1:20-2:40 p.m. April 25 and May 2 in A-110.

Tarleton representatives also will be available to meet with students in the Student Center lobby from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on both dates.

Tarleton’s Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice offers courses that prepare students for career entry or promotion in a variety of criminal justice areas, as well as federal employment and/or graduate study. Faculty integrate textbook material with professional practices, providing valuable insights into the justice system. With a curriculum designed for high-quality instruction, the program’s structure provides an opportunity for interaction with other students and professionals with the same interests.

Tarleton’s Bachelor of Science in Public Administration equips students with knowledge and skills that cover a wide range of topics and disciplines related to the public sector. Students acquire knowledge about government bodies and agencies, including municipal, state, and federal operations in areas such as intergovernmental relations, human resource management, budgeting and finance, and public policy.

Both Tarleton programs will begin classes at the RELLIS Campus in Fall 2018.

Blinn College will offer Associate of Arts degrees in criminal justice, liberal arts, and psychology, and an Associate of Science degree in business at the RELLIS Campus, providing comprehensive pathways for students en route to their bachelor’s degree from Tarleton.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for Blinn students and anyone interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or public administration to learn about what RELLIS offers,” said Brandon Franke, Blinn College Dean of Social Sciences.

In Fall 2018, Blinn will open the Walter C. Schwartz Building at The Texas A&M System RELLIS Campus to allow Blinn students to complete their four-year degrees from Texas A&M System regional universities onsite. Each program at the RELLIS Academic Alliance creates a seamless pathway for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in related fields from an A&M System university, including Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, Texas A&M International University, West Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texas A&M University-Kingsville and Texas A&M University-Central Texas.
