Blinn-Schulenburg offers a variety of non-credit courses this fall

Preserving Your Family Story II, Adobe Photoshop, and Digital Photography among choices offered

September 15, 2017

The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus is offering a variety of workforce education classes for the community this Fall.

Blinn will offer three computer courses, including Adobe Photoshop, Digital Photography, and the Basic Computer Series, as well as Medication Aide Refresher, Czech, and Preserving Your Family Story.

Digital Photography and Adobe Photoshop are both online courses that give students the flexibility to choose the pace they learn and the times at which they access the course. Students have the ability to schedule face-to-face instruction through interactive video conferencing.

In Digital Photography, students will improve their photography whether using a cell phone or professional-level camera. The course will highlight the essentials you need to know to be a better photographer, such as light, perspective, and angles, as well as camera settings. The $139 class starts on Monday, Sept. 18.

The Adobe Photoshop goes beyond photography as students learn how to manipulate color, background, and correct errors using the leading program that professionals use to touch up their photos. The $199 class starts on Monday, Oct. 23.

The Basic Computer Series covers beginning computers, keyboarding and selected Microsoft Office programs. This hands-on course is offered at no cost, and is designed for beginners or those looking to brush up on skills for a new job or promotion. The course is ideal for those returning to school or starting a business from home. The course start date will be announced soon, and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. in Room 127.

Beginning, intermediate, and advanced Conversational Czech courses will be offered on campus and online beginning in September. The cost of the beginning and intermediate courses is $249, while the cost of the advanced course is $79.

Preserving Your Family Story II will start Wednesday, Oct. 4. The $79 course will meet on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  The course teaches students how to plan, research, organize, write and produce a compelling collection of family memories.

Blinn-Schulenburg will offer a medication aide refresher course for $75 on Friday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Advance registration is required for all classes. Students must call Loraine Orellana at 979-743-5237 during business hours for more information or to register.
