Seventeen students complete family history writing course at Blinn College

Seventeen continuing education students from across Fayette, Bastrop, Colorado, and Lee counties recently earned certificates of completion for a family history writing course offered at the Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus.
The eight-week course, Preserving Your Family Story II, was taught by Fayette County author Elaine Thomas, who showed the students how to plan, research, organize, write and produce a compelling collection of family memories.
Course graduates include: Judy Balch (La Grange), Donna Bridwell (West Point), Verta Brown (La Grange), Donna Cockrell (Flatonia), Jerri Frenzel (La Grange), Marie Hayek (Columbus), Rox Ann Johnson (Fayetteville), Eileen McCourt (La Grange), Deacon John McCourt (La Grange), Linda Meuth (Giddings), Janetta Morris (La Grange), Chris Morrison (Ellinger), Gale Newkirk (Bastrop), Terri Wagner (La Grange), Regena Williamson (Sheridan), Vicki Woodard (Schulenburg), and Denise Woodyard (La Grange).
“By practicing the writing techniques that Elaine taught us, our family and personal stories have come to life,” Woodyard said. “That’s really exciting.”
