The Blinn College Foundation is inviting friends and alumni to become a permanent part of a new landmark on the Blinn College-Brenham Campus.
The Foundation’s new fundraiser offers the opportunity to have a special message engraved on a paver brick that will be installed at the entrance to the College’s new Kruse Center. These individualized bricks will raise funds for the Kruse Center and provide local individuals, groups, clubs, and businesses the opportunity to make their mark on this facility.
Currently under construction on the Blinn-Brenham Campus and scheduled to open in Fall 2017, the Kruse Center will enhance the active lives of students and invigorate Blinn’s campus community. The community, sports teams, and student organizations all will utilize to the facility.
The Kruse Center will include an event arena, weight and cardio room, men's and women's locker rooms, indoor track, meeting and multipurpose rooms, and a Pirate's Den snack bar. The facility was made possible with the support of a generous gift from siblings Mildred Kruse Bridges, Evelyn Ann Kruse, Ed. Kruse and his wife Evelyn, and Howard Kruse and his wife Verlin in memory of their parents, E.F. and Bertha Kruse.
“We are looking forward to the tremendous energy the Kruse Center will bring to our students and campus community,” said Dr. Kyle Merten, Director of Alumni Relations. “These paver bricks provide an opportunity for our friends and neighbors to play a part in that excitement and welcome thousands of visitors to the Kruse Center for years to come.”
Through April 1, 2017, commemorative 4”x8” bricks will be available for $150, and 8”x8” bricks are available for $300. Priority brick placement will be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Blinn Foundation supports programs and activities that enhance the quality of education for Blinn College students and expand the educational opportunities for the entire community. While raising funds is an important function, the Foundation also seeks to heighten community awareness of the mission and accomplishments of the College and to promote excellence in education.
Since its inception in 2000, the Foundation has raised funds to purchase classroom equipment and supplies, and help launch major construction projects across Blinn’s campuses, including the A.W. Hodde, Jr., Technical Education Center, the J. Hal and Allyne Machat Music Facility, the W.J. “Bill” Rankin Agricultural Complex, and the Bert and Mae Dean Wheeler Residence Hall.
Thanks to the support of generous donors, Blinn offers more than 230 endowed scholarships valued at more than $16 million. To learn more about the Foundation or to establish a new endowed scholarship, call 979-830-4107 or visit: foundation.blinn.edu.
