Election Day has come and gone, but Blinn College – Schulenburg is inviting the public to come out and vote for its favorite photos during the second annual photography contest on Friday, Nov. 18.
Voting will begin at 6 p.m. in Schulenburg Campus Room 120. There will be snacks and drinks, and Blinn T-shirts and gear will be given away during the event. Photography winners will receive ribbons in the categories of abstract, plants and animals, landscapes and portraits.
Last year, students from the advanced computer class and local 4-H members submitted more than 20 photographs. Mary Day of Moulton placed first in three of five categories, Debbie Koopmann of Columbus placed first in flora and fauna and won the overall prize, and Leroy Krischke of Schulenburg placed first in portraits.
The contest allows Blinn – Schulenburg to showcase its many courses and financial aid opportunities.
Blinn – Schulenburg offers a variety of academic transfer, workforce training and continuing education classes to fit the needs of any student. For information on course offerings and student registration, visit: www.blinn.edu/schulenburg or call 979-743-5200.
