Blinn seeks additional instructors with faculty hiring fair

Faculty encouraged to bring resumes, recommendation letters and transcripts

Blinn College is looking for exceptional instructors to join its team beginning in Fall 2014.

In response to rapid enrollment growth, Blinn will hold a faculty hiring fair from 9 a.m. – noon on Saturday, July 12, in the Barbara L. Pearson Banquet Room in its Bryan campus Student Center (map). Faculty are encouraged to bring their resumes, letters of recommendation, copies of their unofficial transcripts and industry certifications (if appropriate). College representatives will be on hand to review applicant materials, assist with the online application process and answer questions.

The College seeks instructors for its divisions of Business, Agriculture & Kinesiology; Social Sciences; Health Sciences; Workforce Education Programs; Humanities; Visual & Performing Arts; and Natural Sciences, Engineering & Math. The College is hiring instructors on all four of its campuses.

Blinn enrolled 18,413 students this Fall and has experienced 31.1 percent growth since 2006. An economic study released in February found that Blinn makes a $345.3 million impact in its service area.

Blinn’s academic transfer rate ranks among the highest in the state and nation. The Blinn TEAM (Transfer Enrollment at A&M) Program allows selected applicants to Texas A&M’s freshman class a unique co-enrollment opportunity with the opportunity to earn full Texas A&M admission. The initiative, the first of its kind between a major university and a community college, recently received the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Recognition of Excellence.

The College was also named one of the top community colleges in the state by for its positive impact on the Texas economy, and recently listed Blinn among the most affordable large community colleges in the nation.

In addition to its campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg and Sealy, the College teaches online courses, dual credit for high schools and prepares students for quick employment through its career and technical certification programs.
