Associate Degree Nursing Program prepares graduates for variety of nursing career paths
Blinn College is currently accepting applications for its Associate Degree Nursing Program beginning in Spring 2014.
Blinn’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program is a two-year course that prepares students for a nursing career or for transfer into a bachelor degree program at a four-year university.
The program, based at the 27,000-square foot Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan, has highly-qualified faculty that works closely with students in a simulated practice laboratory and in actual clinical settings.
The clinical schedule for nursing courses includes two clinical days, plus lab and lecture time each week. Most students spend 15-24 hours each week in scheduled program activities.
Faculty estimate most students need 30 or more hours per week for study and preparation.
Students who complete the program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination have a job placement rate between 97 and 100 percent and are qualified for a wide array of nursing positions, including pediatric, geriatric, hospice, school and clinical nursing. New graduates can expect to earn approximately $50,000 per year.
Students seeking Spring enrollment in the ADN program must apply by Sept. 15. For more information, including application procedures, visit the program website at www.blinn.edu/twe/adn or contact ADN Administrative Assistant Timmye Posey at 979-691-2012.
