Board members serve six-year terms
Atwood Kenjura, David Sommer and Carolyn D. Miller were each re-elected to the Blinn College Board of Trustees on Saturday.
Kenjura, a 1965 Blinn graduate, is the owner of Kenjura Pharmacy. He has served on the board more than 37 years and recently completed his second consecutive term as board president. He ran unopposed.
Sommer, a Brenham native and Blinn honors graduate, was president of Germania Insurance until his retirement in 2011. He was appointed to the board later that year. He ran unopposed.
Miller, the City of Brenham’s chief financial officer, was appointed to the board in 2011. She defeated Don Wilhelm, who served 10 years as Blinn’s athletic director and chair of the Division of Health and Kinesiology until his retirement in 2004.
Board members serve six-year terms. Votes will be canvassed at the May 21 board meeting and Kenjura, Sommer and Miller will then be sworn in.
