Second annual event includes a movie Wednesday night, festival on Thursday
Blinn College isn’t just welcoming its students back from spring break this week. The college is inviting the entire community to join a celebration welcoming the warmer weather with free, family-friendly activities.
The College invites families to its Brenham campus Wednesday and Thursday to participate in BlinnFest, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a showing of the movie “Battleship” on a 36-foot outdoor screen in the middle of Blinn Boulevard.
The fun on Thursday kicks off at 4 p.m. when the Wesley Westbrook Band takes the stage. Inflatable games will be available for children, and dozens of Blinn’s student groups will have booths for inflatable jousting, sumo wrestling, a football toss, baseball- and football-throwing competitions and a one-on-one bungee run.
Sponsors such as Kountry Boys Sausage and Coca-Cola will also host booths. Snow cones, popcorn and other treats will be sold.
All events are free and open to the public.
