Mu Alpha Theta recognizes outstanding math students
Blinn College recently inducted 45 area high school students and 50 current students into the Blinn chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, the national mathematics honor society for junior colleges.
The induction ceremony was held April 8 in the Blinn College – Brenham campus Student Center.
With 93,000 student members in more than 1,900 schools worldwide, Mu Alpha Theta is co-sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematical Association of America. The organization fosters interest in math by publicly recognizing superior mathematical scholarship and promoting mathematical activities.
Inductees are recommended by instructors based on math grades and overall grade point averages.
