Information about obtaining alternative teaching certification through the Blinn College Teacher Education Alternative Certification Host (TEACH) program will be available at open house sessions on all four Blinn campuses in late April and early May.
The Blinn TEACH program provides training for persons who hold a bachelor’s degree with a solid foundation in their chosen teaching area. The program offers certifications in mathematics, science, Spanish, French, special education, generalist, bilingual generalist, English language arts, reading and social studies, and English as a second language generalist. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be certified to teach in Texas.
The first open house is on the Schulenburg campus April 20 at 10 a.m., in room 120. The open house in Brenham will be held May 3 at 6 p.m. in the Student Center, meeting rooms 2 and 3. On May 4, the Bryan campus will host an open house at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Building, room 120, and the Sealy campus will host an open house on May 5 at 6 p.m. in room 108.
The deadline for application for fall 2011 is July 15. Interviews will be held on the Brenham campus July 28.
