Blinn offers Digital Publishing program

Blinn College is now offering an Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Publishing. Already available as a certificate program, Blinn recently restructured the curriculum, adding the two-year associate degree option.

This exciting course of study incorporates web and graphic design, the latest in printing technologies and digital video instruction through classroom and hands-on computer experience. The program introduces students to up-to-date industry software tools in publishing and design theory including Adobe Creative products.

A few of the courses required during the program include: web design, drawing, principles of marketing, an art course, photography and an internship.

Upon completion of the program, students will have a practical understanding of the process, know current software applications and have the technical skills to enter the world of today’s digital publishing.

Fall registration is open now and students interested in joining the digital publishing program are urged to contact their advisor or Blinn College information management assistant division chair Karen May at 979-830-4023 (Brenham) or 979-209-7369 (Bryan) or kmay@blinn.edu.

To be admitted to Blinn, students must submit an application, high school and college transcripts, and test scores. Students who have not passed all sections of the THEA or an alternative test, or are exempt due to high scores on SAT, ACT, or TAKS, must be advised before being allowed to register.
