Three Bucs receive all American honors
Three members of the Blinn Buccaneer football team received National
Junior College Athletic Association All American honors, first-year
head coach Brad Franchione has announced.
Wide receiver Jamar Green
was named to the first team, while center Tony Burson was named
to the second team and running back James Johnson received honorable
mention.
Green (5-7, 160), a red-shirt freshman out of Chilton High School,
was earlier named to the all-conference team as a return specialist.
He returned 21 punts
on the year for an average of 18.6 yards and two touchdowns.
Burson, (6-3,
305) a sophomore from Katy, has signed to play with Midwestern
State University next season. He was also a Southwest Junior
College Football
Conference first-team selection.
Johnson (5-11, 195), a sophomore from
Port Arthur who earned first-team all American honors last season,
ran for 1,163 yards and 16 touchdowns
this season.
