Blinn College Foundation provides funding
for enrollment communications system
The Blinn College Foundation Inc. has provided funding for a new Web-based communications system for the college’s enrollment management department, David Sommer, foundation board chairman, has announced.
The $70,000 donation will provide for a inquiry manager, contact database and e-mail/Web communications system for use in the college’s student recruiting efforts.
Hobsons EMT Connect will be used to manage the college’s communication initiatives while customizing and personalizing each interaction between Blinn and its prospective students including the state-directed initiative Closing the Gaps, a concerted effort to recruit a more diverse student population in the state’s college and universities.
“Our recruiting offices believe that communication is essential to effective recruiting,” said Dr. Michel Zuch, the college’s director of enrollment management. “Successful enrollment management strategies of the future must focus on speed, personalization and convenience.
“This relates well to students who have grown up in the digital age. They expect immediate response.”
The system will be paid for over a four-year contract, and after the four years Blinn will own the software.
The Blinn College Foundation Inc. provides support for programs and activities that enhance the quality of education for Blinn College students and expand the educational opportunities for the entire community. In addition to raising funds, the foundation also seeks to heighten community awareness of the mission and accomplishments of the college and to promote excellence in education.
