Blinn's Johnson named all American

Blinn College sophomore Renee Johnson has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association all American volleyball team, Coach David Rehr has announced.

Johnson, a 5-10 outside hitter from Hallettsville Sacred Heart, was fourth in the nation in kills this season with 368 for a 4.8 per game average. She also averaged 2.7 digs per game and had 28 blocks and 75 service aces on the season.

The Buccaneers, ranked 10th in the nation heading to their third straight appearance at the NJCAA national tournament last month, finished sixth with a season record of 34-5.
