Author of novel ‘Keeper of the Cross’ to speak at
Blinn College
Nathan Barber, author of the novel Keeper of the Cross, will speak
Sept. 28 at 12:15 p.m. in Blinn College Student Center conference
room.
The program, hosted by the English honor society Sigma Kappa Delta,
is open to the public. There is no admission charge.
In addition to his debut novel, Barber has authored eight educational
books in the areas of European history, reading, spelling, vocabulary
development and test preparation. He has also written four Daily
Spark Warm-up activity guides for classroom teachers.
Barber has worked on several projects for Thomson Learning and
Sparknotes.
He teaches history and serves as assistant head of school at Vanguard
College Preparatory School in Waco, where he lives with his wife
and two children.
A graduate of William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Miss., in 1994
with a degree in history and social science, Barber currently is
enrolled in graduate school at Baylor University and is working
on a master’s degree in education.
He will sign copies of his book after the meeting.
