The concert, titled “An Evening in Vienna,” will include
selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Johannes Brahms’
A German Requiem, Franz Josef Haydn’s Te Deum, and Franz Schubert’s
Mass in G under the direction of Ronnie Sanders and accompanied
by Cheryl Amelang. Soprano Jennifer Wise, director of choral activities
at Blinn, will be featured soloist during the Schubert Mass in G.
Other soloists performing are Randy Murrow and Ryan Schuette.
“Historically, Vienna has been the geographic center of the
great masters of classical music,” says Sanders. “This
concert will bring the magic and charm of Vienna to the O’Donnell
stage in a way that the entire family will enjoy.”
This year marks the choir’s 30th year performing. Last year
it performed Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Tickets are available at the Blinn College Student Center at (979)
830-4180. General admission is $10; seniors pay $5. Blinn students
with current ID’s are admitted free.
