Students Can Now Pay On Line
Students can
now pay their outstanding balances to the college with a credit
card over the web.
The new feature has been added to the Blinn
Online Registration and Information System to allow this convenience.
"With more than 70 percent of our students
taking advantage of registering for courses via the web, we wanted
to offer those same students the chance to make their payments using
that system," said John Robertson, vice president of business services.
"Prior to this feature, students wishing to make payment without
making a trip to campus had to use the telephone registration system
and enter their credit card information, or they had to send in
a check to the business office."
The college enlisted the services of infiNET,
a company that has assisted other schools with integrating the payment
process in a secure manner over the web. There is no cost to the
student to use this service.
"This feature is a natural extension of
Blinn's technology improvement with the student in mind," said Robertson.
"Our students expect to have web-based services and the college
will continue to improve its e-commerce technology."
Blinn first implemented the online registration
system, known by the acronym BORIS, in 1999.
