Blinn’s new classes for the fall 2010 semester

 

For the fall 2010 semester, the applied sciences division is offering Blinn students two new courses in information technology: fundamentals of networking (ITNW 1325) and personal computer hardware (ITSC 1325).

The fundamentals of networking course includes instruction in networking essential concepts including the OSI reference model, network protocols, transmission, media, and networking hardware and software. The personal computer hardware course is a study of current personal computer hardware including personal computer assembly and upgrading, setup and configuration, and troubleshooting. Both courses will apply towards a certificate and/or associates degree in computer information technology.

And for the first time in over a decade, the division of natural science is offering a new microbiology course (BIOL 2421) on the Brenham and Bryan campuses. Needed by many allied health programs including nursing, the introduction to the study of bacteria and other microorganisms class will include fundamentals of microbiology, microbial control, microbiology in everyday life, infection and host resistance and pathogenic organisms.

ITNW 1325 — Fundamentals of Networking (Brenham, Bryan)
ITSC 1325 — Personal Computer Hardware (Brenham, Bryan)

IMED 2315 - A study of advanced layout techniques for creating web pages. Emphasis on identifying the target audience and producing web sites according to accessibility standards, cultural appearance, and legal issues. (Online only)
