NEWS RELEASES
All news releases should be issued through the Office of Marketing and Media Relations, except in some cases with student organizations in which it may be more appropriate for student members to handle the publicity. Check with a Marketing and Media Relations Office staff member for assistance.
Who: Students, faculty, administration, staff members, student organizations, athletes and sports teams, individual academic, technical, or workforce education programs.
What: News about Blinn College, its faculty, staff and students, such as awards, honors, projects, concerts, plays, programs, speakers, sporting events, conventions, graduation, new programs and courses.
When: Information for a news release should be turned in approximately two weeks prior to the event. Reports after the fact should be turned in to the Marketing and Media Relations Office as soon as possible -- preferably the next day.
Where: The Marketing and Media Relations Office issues news releases to the appropriate media.
Why: To tell the Blinn College story to the public. To report the success of the college and its people.
How: Forward information to the Marketing and Media Relations Office preferably in written form (and preferably by e-mail), in person, or by telephone.
