number ranges in the library's reference section can include a wide
variety of useful information: plot summaries, character analyses,
biographies, bibliographies, reprints of criticism, and encyclopedias
on specific authors.

that you may find helpful.
Search the Library
Catalog to find books in the library's collection that analyze
literary works. The catalog provides citations, location, and circulation
information for all the print and audiovisual materials owned by the
library.

To search for criticism
of an author’s works, select the “Subject” category
in the Browse search window, and type in your author’s last
name.

Click on subject headings
that start with your author's name and end with either "criticism
and interpretation" or with the title of the work you are
researching. You will see a list of books of criticism about your
author and his work(s).

The library subscribes to
the following databases that provide citations, and often, full text
documents from books and literary journals. If you need help getting

Find full text biographical
and critical essays from Contemporary Authors, Dictionary
of Literary Biography, and many other literary reference resources
in this combination of several Gale Group databases. Also included
is Contemporary Literary Criticism, which provides full
text reprints of critical essays that were originally published
in literary journals and books.
MLA
International Bibliography
This bibliography includes
over 1.5 million citations to critical essays from more than 4,400
journals and 1,000 book publishers from all over the world. Some
citations also provide links to the complete text of the document.
Subjects covered include literature, language and linguistics, folklore,
literary theory and criticism, and drama.
