How do I find books written in French, German, or Spanish?


1. Click on "Set Search Filters" (top right hand side of screen)

2. Locate the "Language Filters" box

3. Scroll down the list to find the language you need

4. Click on the language to select it

5. Click on "Save" at the bottom of the screen

6. Do a keyword search on the language (french language, german language, or spanish language)

 

How do I find foreign language videorecordings?


1. Click on "Set Search Filters" (top right hand side of screen)

2. Locate the "Language Filters" box

3. Scroll down the list to find the language you need

4. Click on the language to select it

5. Click on "Save" at the bottom of the screen

6. Do a keyword search on the term videorecording to be searched "anywhere"

 

How do I find ASL videorecordings?


1. Enter a keyword (for example "American Sign Language") to identify your topic

2. Enter videorecording as a keyword to be searched "anywhere"

3. Click "search" to retrieve your results


How can I request books that are only availabe from another Blinn College campus?

 

1. Click on the item's request button. Requests generally take 24 hours or less to arrive at your campus library.

2. Enter your Blinn student ID number.

3. Select the pickup location and click "submit."

Note: You can also follow these steps to place a book on hold if all copies (including those from other campuses) are checked out.

Fuente Academica - A unique collection of scholarly academic journals from renowned Latin American and Spanish publishers. This database provides full text coverage (including PDF) for nearly 200 scholarly Spanish language journals. Content is provided in Spanish from respected publishers worldwide.


Economia y Negocios - Economía y Negocios is the result of a collaborative effort between EBSCO Publishing and ESAN (Escuela de Administración de Negocios para Graduados). This continuously updated bibliographic database is an indispensable tool for research conducted in the areas of business and economics.


MedicLatina - A Spanish language collection of medical research and investigative journals published by renowned Latin American medical publishers. This unique database provides access to full text for nearly 100 peer-reviewed medical journals.


Salud en Espanol - This database is comprised of the spanish-language content from the database Consumer Health Complete. The description for Consumer Health Complete is as follows:

"Consumer Health Complete is designed to support patients' information needs and foster an overall understanding of health-related topics. This full text database covers topics such as aging, cancer, diabetes, drugs & alcohol, fitness, nutrition & dietetics, children's health, men & women's health, etc." Description from Database.

 

What if a periodical index does not have the entire text of an article I need?

 

If the full text of an article is not available in a library database, it is possible to check another database for the full text or determine if the library owns a print version of a publication. Refer to "Locate Journals & Magazines in the Library" for an explanation on how to find full text articles.

Foreign Language Dictionaries has many dictionaries to choose from.


Kidon Media Link is a directory of online foreign language newspapers and news sources.


Language Links provides material for foreign language teachers and students of foreign languages. It has links to culture and history; music, radio and television; news and magazines; literature and language; the virtual environment; and, country/city tours. iLoveLanguages is a large collection of Internet resources for language education. Includes online language lessons, online courses, language schools, teaching resources, organizations, products and more. Produced by Tyler Chambers.


Foreign Language Teaching Forum offers a broad spectrum of resources for teachers and students of foreign languages. The resources are for all ages and levels and include classroom activities, curriculum, syllabus design, links to media, dictionaries, and collections made by teachers for teachers.
