Search Complete - A multidisciplinary database that provides
full text access to many articles published in the fields of
criminal justice, sociology, psychology and others. Also provides
access to images.
InfoTrac
Newspapers - Offers full text articles from local and national
newspapers such as the Austin-American Statesman, Bryan/College
Station Eagle, Houston Chronicle, Washington Post, New York
Times, The Financial Times, and The Times (London).
Legal
Collection - Contains full text for nearly 250 of the world's
most respected, scholarly law journals. It is an authoritative
source for information on current issues, studies, thoughts
and trends of the legal world.
SIRS
Researcher - A general database containing thousands of
full text articles exploring many criminal justice topics such
as gangs, school violence, substance abuse, hate crimes, racial
profiling and more. Articles are selected from domestic and
international newspapers, magazines, journals, and government
publications. Also provides access to images and reliable web
sites.
Texas
Reference Center - Includes more than 80 full text journals
and books covering a multitude of topics related to Texas.
Sourcebook of Criminal
Justice Statistics - A comprehensive collection of criminal
justice statistics.
Crime in the United
States (1995 to present) - FBI reports of crimes. National
data presented as well as regional, state, county agency, city
agency, universtiy or colege, city and county, and Metropolitan
Statistical Areas.
Internet
Public Library: Law Enforcement - A directory of links to
numerous criminal justice topics and statistics. Provided by
the University of Michigan.
Interpol
Disaster Victim Identification Guide - The procedures
outlined in the guide are meant to promote compatibility of
disaster handling across international boundaries.
National Criminal Justice Reference
Service - Contains documents and web links from U.S. government
agencies.
U.S. Bureau of Justice
Statistics - A collection of criminal justice statistics
from U.S. government agencies.
Juvenile
Offenders and Victims: 2006 National Report - Provides comprehensive
data on juveniles in the justice system.
Crime
in Texas (1999 to present) - Provides links to the Crime
in Texas report in PDF. These reports are currently available
for 1999 – 2004. Chapter 9 of each report is “Crime
by Jurisdiction,” which provides statistics at both a
city and county level.

Legal Information
Institue: Cornell Law School: Search - All opinions of the
United States Supreme Court handed down since 1992, together
with over 600 earlier decisions selected for their historic
importance.
The OYEZ Project- A multimedia
archive devoted to the Supreme Court of the United States and
its work. It aims to be a complete and authoritative source
for all audio recorded in the Court since the installation of
a recording system in October 1955.
Texas Courts Online
- Links to Texas Supreme Court and appelate courts. The website
for each court provides a case search function.

Some local police departments provide extensive statistical
information for their jurisdiction (see below), others have
websites, but not much on them other than contact information (Schulenburg & Sealy), and some don’t have websites.
