Use the Blinn Library
Catalog Request Wizard to conveniently request books
and audiovisuals that are not housed in your home campus library.
The Request Wizard can also be used to place a "hold" on an item that is
checked out, placing you in line to get the book after it is returned
to the library.
How do I place my requests?
1. Just click on the Request button next to the desired item in your library catalog search results to open the Request Wizard.
2. Type
in your Blinn ID number and Password, then click Login.
3. From the drop-down menu select your home
campus as the pickup location.
3. Click
on the Submit button. You will see an aknowledgement that your
request was successfully submitted.
4. Click on OKAY, and your request or hold has been placed.
When will I receive the item(s) I requested?
-
Items requested
before noon for delivery to the Brenham and Bryan
campuses will usually be available by 5pm that same day.
-
Items requested
after noon will be available the following weekday
by 5pm. Item delivery is available Monday through Friday
only.
-
Items requested
for delivery to the Schulenburg or Sealy campuses will be available
within 24 to 48 hours.
-
When your item arrives, an email is sent to your Blinn College email account. You can also log in
to your library account in the catalog and check the status of requests you have submitted.
When the requested item is available at your campus, the status
column will say "Available for Pick up."
What if I can't get to the library to pick up my items?
When a library patron places a request for materials through the Blinn Library catalog, that patron must normally come to the library to pick up the materials. Federal privacy law prohibits us from allowing any one else to pick up these items. In order to make it easier for students who have difficulty coming to campus, we have the following procedure to allow special pickup of requested library materials.
Special Pickup Instructions
A student may designate another person to pick-up library materials he has requested if he is unable to do so himself.
The student requesting the materials must notify us prior to pick-up either in person or by sending an email from his Blinn student email account to library@blinn.edu. This email must include the name of the person designated to pick up the materials.
When the designated person comes to the library, he must identify himself with an official picture ID.
