Federal Government

USA.gov (formerly FirstGov.gov) As the official U.S. gateway to all government information, searching USA.gov provides access to millions of federal and state government web pages that are not generally available on commercial websites. You can also do business with the government online: you can apply for student financial assistance, buy government publications, apply for social security and other benefits, get a passport application, and more. USA.gov also has a Spanish-language web portal, Gobierno USA.gov. Try USASearch.gov's new, improved search page!

GPOAccess is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without copyright restriction, unless specifically noted.

Google U.S. Government Search locate web sites in the .gov (US Government) and .mil (US Military) domains.

SIRS Government Reporter (Library subscription database) Search for full text government documents selected by SIRS editors. Historical government documents, National Archive documents, agency information and links, country profiles, and information about U.S. presidents, Congress, and Supreme Court are also available by selecting “Database Features”

THOMAS: Legislative Information on the Internet tracks legislation through both houses of Congress, provides access to the Congressional Record and committee information.

U.S. House of Representatives Web Page includes profiles of House members and access to the legislative process, legislative information, committees and organizations of the House, and congressional schedules. You can use your address, zip code, county, or district to find your representatives.
