The LoveToKnow Free Online Encyclopedia is based on what many consider to be the best encyclopedia ever written: the eleventh edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, first published in 1911. Many of the entries were written by the most famous people of the age. It was considered to represent the sum of human knowledge at the beginning of the 20th Century. LoveToKnow is in the process of updating and editing thousands of the entries, preserving the treasured entries that make it so unique, and adding entries on new relevant topics.

Go to the 031 number range in the reference section for general encyclopedias, such as World Book and Encyclopedia Britannica. The library also has subject encyclopedias providing in-depth information on many topics. Ask a librarian to help you find one that will cover your topic.
