The Blinn Learning Center gives tests for students
enrolled in Distance
Education (telecourse and internet courses) as well as
to most ADA contract students. We work in conjunction with the
Office of Disability Services and Blinn instructors to accommodate
those students that need extra time to take their tests.
We require instructors provide name(s) of student(s) name taking
a test in the LC. Please fill out a form to provide us with
your instructions for administering the test. Students must
follow posted instructions regarding rules and time constraints
of the Learning Center testing area.
Tests are stored in a locked filing cabinet, accessible only
to LC professional staff (not student workers). Students must
present a current Blinn ID, current Driver's License, or have
you, the instructor, identify them. Only material which you
permit is allowed in the Testing Area. The Testing Area is
separate from the Computer Lab and Tutoring Area. It is proctored
by a member of the staff and monitored by cameras and recording
equipment.
We do enforce a No Cheating Policy. When we confiscate cheat
sheets from students, we turn them over to the instructor
along with the test. We prevent cheating or remove the temptation
by checking calculators, scantrons, blue book, etc. before
a test begins. Students must leave books and bags outside
the testing area. All tests are considered "closed book" unless
you specify otherwise.
We have found that the most efficient means of receiving
your exams, instruction forms, and rosters is via e-mail.
We are able to make up to five copies of your exam. Paper
copies of your testing materials will be shredded after your
deadline has passed. Your electronic copies will be deleted
from our email at the end of each semester. You may also bring
your exams and administering documents to the Learning Center
in the Library Building, Room 258 or you may fax the materials
to 979.209.7245. Faxed exams that are left in your folder
will be shredded at the end of each semester. |
