The applicant must request the deposit and follow all procedures.
We recommend that you apply the Fall semester of your high school senior year. Room assignments begin in June.
Assignments are made by the date order that we receive the application/deposit. We cannot move someone up on the list in order to meet a request. When we get to the applicant’s name, we will check to see if the person he/she requested for a roommate has been assigned. If we can accommodate the request, we will.
Financial Aid will not pay for the housing deposit.
The assignment letter gives the payment due date.
We can not predict when a student on the waiting list will be assigned a room. We keep assigning as long as vacancies arise and students are in need of housing. We may be assigning during registration and when school starts if vacancies occur.
This varies by residence hall/apartment. Please refer to the residence hall/apartment home pages for more specific information.
Check the residence hall/apartment homepage for a list of things to bring and not to bring.
Male halls have centrally located bathrooms on each floor and sink in the rooms. Female halls have suite style bathrooms, which means two students to a room and four students to a bathroom.
Blinn College does not endorse any off campus housing, but you may contact the Brenham/Washington County Chamber of Commerce at www.brenhamtexas.com. The housing office has a list of apartments that accept Blinn Students.
Room numbers and apartments are assigned during move-in. NO exceptions.
If a student requests a specific person as a roommate, we will tell them if we have been able to get them together. If the person has not requested a specific roommate, we do not disclose the roommate's name until check-in time.
The demand for rooms in the fall is too high. In the spring semester, the requests can be considered based on availability.
We suggest that you take a tour of the residence halls. You may refer to the residence halls on the web page for prices and what is included in each hall.
We do not make assignments until June. To place your name on the waiting list, you are encouraged to put in your application and deposit the fall semester of your senior year. Deposits are refundable when requested if an assignment has not been made.
Confirmed but not used, or not canceled by the required date, will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Yes, at least the minimum meal plan is required. (Refer to the Meal Plan for additional information).
Room dimensions vary from hall to hall and room to room.
