Applying for Housing 

To reside in college housing, a student must enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours at Blinn College and must pass a criminal history record review and documentation must be on file for having received the Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination. Blinn College housing assignments are made without regard to race, color, creed, national origin or disability.


If you are a returning student to Blinn on-campus housing, please call 979-830-4461 before you re-apply. There may be previous application information on file in the housing office. For 1st time applicants, only apply for the semester you plan to attend. 

How to Apply

1st time Housing Applicants

Fall room selections are open from February 4th at 8:00 a.m. through August 30th at 5:00 p.m.

Please apply early! Housing spaces are limited and there is no guarantee of a room assignment. The Housing Application and Background Application must be filled out completely and your payment for deposit and fee must be processed correctly. Otherwise, your application will not be accepted. Applications are processed in the order they are receipted.

Follow the instructions for the Login of MyHousing:

  • Login intomyBLINN
  • Click on Student Links tab (If the Student Links tab is not available, please contact admissions@blinn.edu to verify the items required to complete your admissions file.)
  • Under Student Links, click on Residential Life
  • Choose the Login to Apply Online box
  • Select the Fall 2013 Housing Application drop down option
  • Read and accept the Housing Agreement
  • Complete the housing application questions and preferences
  • You will be directed to pay the online deposit payment of $300 plus $8.25 for a service fee if paying by credit card
    • No cash, check, or money order can be accepted.  This must be done with a credit card or checking account/savings account (e-check).   Blinn accepts American Express, MasterCard, and Discover.  BLINN DOES NOT ACCEPT VISA.
    • If you do not have a credit card or checking account/savings account, you can get a prepaid  store credit card with the American Express, MasterCard, or Discover logo.
    • Prepaid store credit cards can be purchased from Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and many other stores.  (Examples are the MasterCard Green Dot or Walmart Money Card).
    • The service fee for each payment by credit card (including prepaid) will be 2.75%.  If you are using a prepaid store credit card, you should purchase it in the amount of $318.53  to cover the housing deposit, background check fee, and two service fees.
  • A Thank You confirmation page will be emailed when the Housing Application is completed successfully
  • Return to MyHousing and select the Background Check Application drop down option
  • Read and accept the Background Check Agreement.  Out-of-state students are required to submit an out-of-state Background Check Form, which can be printed from the link available on the agreement page. The out-of-state form can also be found on the Housing website.
  • Complete the Background Check Application accurately
  • You will be directed to pay the online background fee of $10 plus $0.28 for a service fee
  • A Thank You confirmation page will be emailed when the Background Application is completed successfully

As a room becomes available, an assignment letter will be emailed. Please check your email on a regular basis.


How to Apply for a Dining Plan

A dining plan is required of students residing in on-campus housing. Please follow the instructions to select a dining plan for Fall 2013. Failure to choose a dining plan will result in one being chosen for you.

Follow the instructions for choosing a dining plan:

  • Login to MyBlinn
  • Click on Student Links tab
  • Click on Residential Life
  • Login to MyHousing
  • On left hand column choose Dining
  • Scroll to bottom of page
  • Under Fall 2013 click Continue
  • Choose a dining plan from the drop down area
  • Click on Submit

Dining plans can be changed before school begins. To change your dining plan, please call 979/830-4461.


Online Room Selection Instructions

March 27, 2013 7:00 a.m. – April 3, 2013 6:00 p.m.

DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS SELECTION IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR ROOM

1. Click on the Address Bar and enter my.blinn.edu.

2. Log in your User Name as first name.last name and last two digits of your ID number:
     Ex.:  susan.smith54

3. Your password is your birth date in month, day, year order (unless you changed it): 
      Ex.: 032490

4. myBlinn homepage will display.

5. Click on Student Links tab. 

6. Choose yes or no if a Security Warning comes on.

7. Under Student Links, click on Residential Life.

8. Under My Housing, click on Login.
The screen that comes up My Housing Overview, gives your present room information.

9. On the left hand column, hold the mouse over Room Selection.

10. Then in the next column, hold the mouse over the Select a Room/Suite option and click that option.
     Your present room will appear on the screen in red.

11. Click on the box Select Room.

12. Read the Housing Agreement and click on the I Agree – Submit My Room Selection.
     Room assignment is saved.

13. For the required meal plan, go to the left hand column and click on Dining.

14. Under Fall 2013, click on Continue.

15. On the next screen, click on arrow on the drop down menu to see the choices of meal plans.

16. Highlight your choice.

17. Click on Submit My Dining Plan Selection.
     The next screen verifies your meal plan selection.

18. Go to top of screen and click on Log Out of My Housing.

19. The room selection process is now complete.


How to Reserve a Different Room

1. Click on the Address Bar and enter my.blinn.edu.

     Ex.: 032490

4. my Blinn homepage will display.

5. Click on Student Links tab. 

6. Choose yes or no if there is a Security Warning.

8. Under My Housing, click on Login.
     The screen that comes up My Housing Overview, gives your present room information.

9. On the left hand column, hold the mouse over Room Selection.

10. Then in the next column, hold the mouse over the Select a Room/Suite option and click that option.

11. Under the Select Room/Suite option, click on Find Available Rooms.
     A list of available rooms will display.

12. Look through the list to make your choice.

13. Beside your room choice, click on Select Room.
     Your selected room will appear on the Room Booking screen.

14. Read the Housing Agreement and click on the I Agree – Submit My Room Selection.
     Room assignment is saved.

15. For the required meal plan, go to the left hand column and click on Dining.

16. Under Fall 2013, click on Continue.

17. On the next screen, click on arrow on the drop down menu to see the choices of meal plans.

18. Highlight your choice.

19. Click on Submit My Dining Plan Selection.
     The next screen verifies your meal plan selection.

20. Go to top of screen and click on Log Out of My Housing.

21. The room selection process is now complete.

*IF YOU DESIRE TO CHANGE YOUR ROOM AFTER THE SELECTION PROCESS IS COMPLETED, YOU   MUST REQUEST THE CHANGE IN THE HOUSING OFFICE. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE.

*YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE BLINN EMAIL ADDRESS.  YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAILVERIFICATION FROM THE HOUSING DEPARTMENT STATING YOUR ROOM HAS BEEN RESERVED.
