Over the Top (Almost)
A.W. Hodde, Jr's contribution was a big boost to reaching the $1.9 million goal to pay the cost of construction. Cash contributions and pledges total $1,882,866, only $17,134 under the target. And, there may be enough savings in construction "contingency" dollars to cover that shortage.
Now it's on to raising dollars for the endowed scholarship fund. The goal is to raise $1.3 million to endow a fund that will provide income for scholarships to help tech ed students receive their education and training. The fund balance currently is $683,900. Donors making contributions to the scholarship fund will receive the same recognition as other donors. Contact Joe Al Picone, Executive Director, Blinn College Foundation at (979) 830-4159.

Building Named After A.W. Hodde, Jr.
A.W. Hodde, Jr. and his wife, Virginia, made the very generous donation of $350,000 and will have the honor of the Tech Ed Center building named after him. Mr. Hodde presented the check to the Blinn College Foundation in the college board room. A luncheon was held in Mr. Hodde's honor in the board dining room in the Student Center following the check presentation. Mr. Hodde is a retired attorney and has many years of service to the community. Everyone involved in the Tech Ed Center project is thankful and appreciative of this wonderful gift.
