Veterans Benefits
Blinn College offers several programs and services that have been developed to help the veteran student meet his/her educational goals. If you were active duty military personnel, a reservist, or a dependent of a veteran who is 100% disabled or deceased due to a service related injury, you may qualify for educational benefits through the Veterans Administration.

Duty - GI Bill for veterans who served active duty & contributed $1200
Chapter 35-Dependent
of Veteran - Survivors/Dependents of 100% disabled or deceased veterans
Chapter 1606-Reservist – GI Bill for Reservists/National Guard
Chapter 1607-Activated
Reservist – GI Bill for Reservists/National Guard called to active duty since 09/11/01 & served a minimum of 90 days
Chapter 31-Vocational Rehabilitation – Program offering services and educational benefits to veterans with a service-connected disability.
Continuing Veteran Students –
Veterans or Dependents of Veterans that used their VA educational
benefits the previous semester at Blinn College
Transfer Student –
Veterans or Dependents of Veterans that used their VA educational
benefits at another institution the previous semester

Military Tuition Waiver Programs
The Hazelwood Exemption Act was established for Texas Veterans
and Dependents of Veterans who have exhausted their Department
of Veterans Affairs benefits or meet specific criteria to qualify.

to find out if you qualify. Once you determine that you qualify,
submit the appropriate application along with the required documentation

Sheet to Blinn

Military Tuition Assistance Programs
On October 30, 2000, the President signed into law an amendment to the Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty education program that permits VA to pay a Tuition Assistance Top- up benefit. The amount of the benefit can be equal to the difference between the total cost of a college course and the amount of Tuition Assistance that is paid by the military for the course.
