Application Process
Step #1: Click on this Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) link to complete the FAFSA application online and submit it to the federal government. Please allow four to six weeks for the Department of Education to process the FAFSA application. Once processed, the student will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Department of Education.
Step #2: Click on this Blinn Student Financial Aid Data Form (http://www.blinn.edu/finaid/FinancialAidDataForm%2009-10.pdf) link to print, complete, sign and mail the data form to the financial aid office. ALL Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg & Sealy campus students should mail the completed data form to the Blinn College Financial Aid Office, 902 College Avenue, Brenham Texas 77833.
Step #3: The SAR along with any other required documentation requested on the SAR should be submitted to the financial aid office. The student should also fill out the student data form which is provided by the financial aid office. If the student has attended any college previously to Blinn, an official academic transcript from each school must be submitted to the financial aid office.
Step #5: The financial aid office will process the submitted
forms and send the student an award letter. The letter will
inform the student for which award he/she is eligible.
The award letter will include both loans and grants should the
student be eligible for both. A loan application will
be sent with the award letter if the student is eligible for
one. If the student is to receive any scholarships, these will
also be calculated into the award letter.
Step #6: If the student chooses to accept any or all
of the award, they should sign the award letter, fill out the
loan application if applicable, and return it to the financial
aid office.
Step #7: From this point, the financial aid office is
responsible for further processing and actual awarding of the
money. Should the student be due a refund check from amounts
above and beyond tuition and fees, he/she may check in the business
office or financial aid office after the 12th day of classes.
