To access Master Course Syllabus Project either go to the faculty development page and click on the Assessment Portal or go to http://www.blinn.edu/faculty_dev/Master%20Course%20Page.htm

 

The page should look like this:

If you are on campus, click for automatic log in. For off campus, click and use your administrative id and password

 

 

 

Click on Add New Course

 

This is where you will enter the course data.

 

Type of Course: choose either Academic or Technical.

 

Academic: To find the Approval Number, click on the hyperlink.   Find the course and enter the approval number listed.

 

Example: For ACCT 2301, 2302, 2401 and 2402, the approval number is 52.0301.51 04.

 

Technical: To find the CIP #, click on the hyperlink.   Type in the Rubric (the four letters in the course)and the Course Number).   Click on Search at the bottom of the page.

 

Example: For RELE 1211 and 1311, the CIP # is 52.1501

 

 

The next sections can be cut and pasted from your original syllabus unless there have been changes.

Student Learning Outcomes: Place the student learning outcomes one at a time in the blank and click ADD.

These are recorded from the bottom to the top, so enter the last one first.

Outcomes Inventory: This area is for   institutional assessments.   Place one institutional assessment in the blank and click ADD.

Grading Scale: This is the area to enter your grade ranges for each of the letter grades.

Assessment: This area should include the required percentages of points for all sections of the course.   Examples: The percentage for participation, final percentage, the final is cumulative.

Semester Instructional Schedule: This is a sample of the sequence of study for this class throughout the semester.

Materials: This section should include required and suggested books, software, or other materials necessary for the course.

Select the area that this course meets the Core Curriculum guidelines, and then select the objectives that it meets.

 

To edit or view a course, on the home page click on Search.

 

Double click on the Search button and a listing of all courses enter will be listed.

 

To edit, click Edit.

To view a Master Course Syllabus, click on Report.
