Supported Browsers | Pop-up Blockers | Cookies | Temporary Internet Files

Supported Browsers

The following browsers are supported by eCampus/ANGEL.

The following browsers are NOT supported. If you use one of the following browsers, some eCampus functions, such as drop box and discussion board, will not work correctly.

  • Safari (Mac or PC)
  • Google Chrome

Pop-up Blockers

Pop-up blockers can interfere with the use of eCampus. These include the pop-up blockers located in your browser, in your toolbars, and in your virus protection programs.

To turn off the pop-up blockers in Internet Explorer 7 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Internet Options.

3. Click on the Privacy tab.

4. Under the Pop-up Blocker section, click on Settings.

5. In the box underneath Address of website to allow, type ecampus.blinn.edu

6. Click Add. The address will appear in the Allowed sites area.

7. Click Close.

8. Click OK.

You may have to restart Internet Explorer if you continue to have problems with your pop-up blocker.

To turn off pop-up blockers in Firefox 3.0 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Firefox 3.0.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Options.

3. Click on the Content tab.

4. Next to the Block pop-up windows option, click Exceptions.

5. In the box underneath Address of web site, type ecampus.blinn.edu

6. Click Allow. The address will appear in the sites area.

7. Click Close.

8. Click OK.

You may have to restart Firefox if you continue to have problems with your pop-up blocker.

Other pop-up blockers may be on your system due to extra toolbars or anti-virus programs. Usually, if it is a toolbar, you can click on the preferences or options section, and choose to allow pop-ups on that site. With anti-virus programs, you will need to go to the settings for the program and configure or turn off the pop-up blocker.
 

Cookies

Cookies need to be enabled in order to use eCampus/ANGEL.

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 7 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Internet Options.

3. Click on the Privacy tab.

4. Under the Settings section, click on Sites.

5. In the box underneath Address of website, type ecampus.blinn.edu

6. Click Allow. The address will appear in the Allowed sites area.

7. Click OK.

8. Click OK.

To enable cookies in Firefox 3.0 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Firefox 3.0.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Options.

3. Click on the Privacy tab. Follow the instructions below, depending on your settings.

4. If under the Cookies section, the Accept cookies from sites box is checked, your cookies are enabled.

5. Click OK.

4. If under the Cookies section, the Accept cookies from sites box is not checked, click Exceptions.

5. In the box underneath Address of web site, type ecampus.blinn.edu

6. Click Allow. The address will appear in the sites area.

7. Click Close.

8. Click OK.

Deleting Temporary Internet Files

If your browser starts giving you errors or problems, you may need to clean out your temporary internet files.

To delete temporary internet files in Internet Explorer 7 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Internet Options.

3. The General tab should appear. Under the Browsing history area, click Delete.

a. Click Delete files next to Temporary Internet Files. You may continue and delete Cookies, History, Form Data, and Passwords, but you do not have to unless your browser continues to experience problems.

b. Be patient. If you have never done this before, it will take very long time.

c. When done, click Close.

4. Under the Browsing history area, click Settings.

a. Under the Check for newer versions of stored pages area, make sure the radio button next to Every time I visit the web page is clicked.

b. Under the Disk space to use (8 - 1024MB) area, type 8. C

c. Click OK.

5. Click OK.

You may have to restart Internet Explorer for your changes to take place.

To delete temporary internet files in Firefox 3.0 (PDF | Video):

1. Open Firefox 3.0.

2. Click on Tools and then choose Options.

3. Click on the Privacy tab.

4. Click the Clear Now button.The most important one to check is the Cache option. However, you may leave the rest of the options checked as well.

5. Click the Clear Private Data Now button.

6. Be patient. If you have never done this before, it will take very long time.

7. Click OK.
