March 8, 2008

The 7th seeded Bucs fell in the first round of the Region XIV Basketball Tournament to the 2nd seeded Paris Junior College by a score of 74-63. The Bucs were lead by Sean Coleman with 17 points, they finish the season with an overal record of 18-13.

March 4, 2008

The men's team battled Panola for the #7 seed and defeated the Ponies in Carthage 70-66. The Bucs will face Paris Junior College Saturday at 3pm in Kilgore at the Region XIV Tournament.

March 1, 2008

In the final home game of the season, the Bucs fell to Trinity Valley 69-54. Although a lock for the Region XIV Tournament the Bucs (10-11, 16-12) lose ground in the seeding. The men and women's teams play their final regular season game at Panola College on Tuesday.

Feb. 27, 2008

The Bucs fell short to Angelina College 88-85 in Lufkin Wednesday. The men now sit at 10-10 in conference. The next contest will be against conference foe Trinity Valley, Saturday at home featuring Sophomore Day. The men will tip-off at 4 p.m. - STORY

Feb. 23, 2008

The Blinn College Men's Basketball Team came into the week fighting for a berth in the Region XIV Tournament. After an upset of #8 ranked Tyler Junior College on Wednesday night and a defeat of Lee College tonight, the Bucs find themselves in a tie for fourth place.

With the 75-73 win over Lee College in Baytown and losses by Navarro College, Trinity Valley, and Panola College, the Bucs find themselves in a four-way tie for fourth place, and more importantly, have clinched a berth in the Region XIV tournament. The Buccaneers (16-10, 10-9) return to action Wednesday at Angelina College.

Men pull big upset

Coming into the night the#8 Tyler Junior College Apaches were 22-1 and undefeated in Region XIV play. The Blinn Bucs upset TJC by a score of 94-76 leading by 10 points most of the second half. The Bucs move 16-10 overall and 9-9 in Region XIV play. The men are on the road Saturday at Lee College.

In the men's game of a doubleheader, the Buccaneers defeated Lon Morris by a score of 80-64. The Bucs were led by Michael Johnson who scored 22 points. The Bucs are 15-10 on the season and 8-9 in Region XIV play. The men will return to action at home on Wednesday when Tyler Junior College comes to Blinn for a 5:30 pm start for the women followed by a 7:30 tip-off for the men.

Feb. 13, 2008

The Blinn Mens Basketball Team dropped its second consecutive road game to #13 Paris Junior College (22-2, 14-2) at Paris by a score of 82-72. The Bucs who were without forward Sean Coleman due to injury move to 14-10 overall and 7-9 in Region XIV play. The Bucs return to action on Saturday versus Lon Morris with tip-off set at 4pm.

Feb. 6, 2008

In a Region XIV match up with San Jacinto, the Blinn College Men's Basketball team won a nail-biter 92-89. The Bucs move themselves solidly into 8th place in Region XIV play with a 6-8 record, seven teams are within two games of each other. The Bucs were led in scoring by Michael Johnson with 31. The men return to action at Jacksonville College on Saturday.

As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, the Buccaneers compete in the Region XIV Athletic Conference and the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. The Buccaneers compete in football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball. Complementing the athletic teams are the Blinn Cheerleaders, the Buccaneer Treasures Dance Team and the Blinn College Marching Band. All athletic teams are located on the Brenham campus.
