Blinn College Treasures turn 40!
Founded in 1971 by Mrs. Sue Boehnke, the Blinn College Treasures have been entertaining crowds with their energetic performances for years. On Oct. 15, Blinn supporters will have a chance to return the favor, as the Treasures will be celebrating their 40th anniversary during the annual homecoming festivities at the Brenham campus.
All former and current dance team members are invited to a fellowship celebration beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Blinn College Student Center. Members are also invited to attend all other homecoming activities, including the alumni meetings, Hall of Honor luncheon and the football game at Cub Stadium.
Prior to kick-off at 3 p.m., a pre-game ceremony will be held to recognize all former and current sponsors and members, along with a special recognition of Mrs. Boehnke.
The Blinn College dance team is an exciting group that performs at Blinn athletic events, pep rallies, college and community events, as well as at a number of other special events in and around the local community. Since the program’s inception, roughly 1,000 girls have been a part of the organization.
