Farrer now a Houston Texans Cheerleader
Blinn sophomore dancer and Crosby native Stephanie Farrer was selected to join the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. She was one of hundreds of dancers who auditioned for only 33 spots on the 2011 squad.
Farrer, a graduate of Crosby High School, was part of the 2011 Blinn Dance Team that finished fourth at this year’s National Cheerleaders Association/National Dance Association Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships, as well as the 2010 team that placed fourth. While at Blinn, Farrer earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple times, was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and maintained a 4.0 grade point average. She is the daughter of Vicki and Weems Farrer.
"I'm very proud of my students this year and all the hard work that they've put in," said Blinn's Cheer/Dance Coach Sarah Barland. "It's good to see them, and our program, get recognized for hard work and ability."
Along with her Texans’ cheerleading duties, Farrer will be attending the University of Houston in the fall working towards a career in dentistry. Farrer is only the second Blinn dancer to make the Texans’ squad. Blinn has had four dancers/cheerleaders become Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and one become a Houston Rockets’ dancer.
