Understanding how living organisms function, adapt to adverse conditions, and interact with one another are fundamental aspects of biology. I have a strong interest in entomology and plant physiology, especially in the areas of plant growth and development, plant and insect interaction, pest management, vector biology, and medical entomology. I also have a strong interest in zoology, human anatomy and physiology. I have had a special interest in parasitology since my undergraduate years. I am fascinated by the diversity, ecology, and medical importance of parasitic organisms. I would love to share my passion and interests in these subject areas with my students. Interested in my classes, please click on one of the links listed below for course information sheet (CIS): BIOL 1406 - General Biology I - Section D1BIOL 1411 - General Botany - Sections A1 & A2BIOL 2401 - Anatomy and Physiology IRESEARCH INTERESTS: I am interested in the effects of cultural practices on the population dynamics of pest insects, host plant quality, and pest management strategies for ornamental crops. My goals are to understand how cultural inputs such as fertilizer and insecticide usage influence pest and natural enemy populations, determine whether these inputs can be optimized to reduce pest populations without compromising crop quality, and evaluate how these inputs influence various pest management strategies.
