Blinn College Update

Professional associations announce
Teaching Excellence Awards

The Blinn College Professional Associations on the Brenham and Bryan campuses selected instructors in theater arts, mathematics and nursing for this year’s Teaching Excellence Awards.

On the Bryan campuses, mathematics instructor Shahnaz Milani received the award in the academic category."

Ms. Milani’s appreciation for Blinn and for the subject of mathematics was gained while she was a student on the Brenham campus.

“I liked math when I first started at Blinn partially because I was learning English as this time and math is an international language,” she said.

She joined the mathematics faculty in 1998 and has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers nine times. She is also the faculty advisor for the International Student Organization (ISO). She has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Texas Southern University. Ms. Milani donated her award money to the BPA and the ISO.
