What DO I do if . . .
I need to talk to my teacher?
- office hours All teachers maintain regular office
hours. These are times when the teacher is available to any
and all students -- check your first day handouts for the scheduled
times. An appointment is not necessary during office hours, just go
to your teacher's office. Your teacher will also be willing to
schedule an appointment at another time that fits in with both of your
schedules.
- e-mail Teachers
have e-mail addresses and this is a great
way to make sure the teacher receives exactly the message you want to
send. If your teacher uses eCampus, there is an e-mail program as part of
that package. The Blinn College
Directory shows the e-mail addresses of faculty and staff.
- phone Your
teacher provided you with a phone number
on the first day handout and all of the phones at Blinn have
voice-mail. If you need to leave a message, include your whole name
and the class you are attending. If you want the teacher to return
your call, be sure to leave your phone number and the times you will be
answering this phone.
If you have a
special request to make of your teacher, try to use any of the above methods of
contact. The few minutes right before and right after class are often
times when your teacher is busy trying to set up for class or pack up for the
next teacher so they usually aren't free to talk at that time.
