TENTATIVE SEMESTER CALENDAR—Changes to the calendar will be announced in class.  Students are responsible for being in class to hear these announcements.

All reading assignments should be read by the day they are listed.
PA (Perspectives on Argument) and LBH (Little Brown Handbook)
Note:  All chapter assignments are for PA. Note that the LBH is indicated in the calendar.  On those days the text will be used, and on other days it may be used.  It is recommended that you have both books at each meeting.

LBH is a necessary, valuable reference tool.  I may assign work for grammar brushup; I will assign reading for research process/research writing. Students should consult the text as needed during their writing process.

Journal Writing:  These are informal writing projects usually completed as homework and counted as daily grades.  However, they should be typed, edited, and proofread.  They will be graded for content and grammar.  See attached assignment sheet.
