Taking a course over the Internet
offers unique opportunities and presents unique challenges to
students and
teachers alike. By leveraging Internet technology, taking a course
online allows flexibility to students who might not be able to
attend class in a traditional classroom setting. However, since
an online course covers the same information that the traditional,
on-campus course covers (and in the same detail), more responsibility
is placed on the student to keep up with material, review lectures,
and turn in assignments on time. It is up to the student to check
in at least once a week to get lecture notes and assignments,
to follow and post to bulletin board discussions, and to participate
in chats.
Currently the only online course I'm teaching
is English 2311: Technical
Writing. To log on to eCampus click here.
