English 2311 is the study of the fundamentals
of good, clear writing in the scientific and technical fields.
By focusing on writing business correspondence and developing
graph analyses, object descriptions, instruction reports, proposals,
technical reports, and manuals, the course helps the student
produce both oral and written presentations of technical information
to technical and non-technical audiences. Papers, reports,
and presentations are required.
The pre-requisite for taking 2311 is passing
English 1301 with a "C" or better and sophomore standing
(or approval of the
division chair). English 2311 is a Core Course in the 42-hour
