Presidential Profile
The Blinn College Board of Trustees seeks a dynamic and visionary leader who is a personable, strong communicator and who brings a demonstrated record of building trust, both internally and externally. He or she will be a person of the highest integrity.
Leadership Profile:
- A master’s degree from an accredited institution is required; doctorate preferred
- Successful college level administrative experience is preferred; teaching experience at the community college level is preferred
- An understanding of and a commitment to the role and mission of a diverse, comprehensive community college
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Student-centered leadership skills fostering program development, program evaluation, outcomes assessment, accreditation; demonstrated commitment to a strong student life program, with experience in athletics and on-campus student living preferred
- Evidence of an active involvement with students and a commitment to student success
- Strong management skills in the following areas: financial/business systems, resource development, strategic planning, team building, and construction facilities management
- Demonstrated record in resource development from external agencies including foundations, and business and community groups
- Evidence of effective leadership in establishing a positive presence and visibility in the community
- Demonstrated strong decision-making skills based on collaborative relations; a strong record of professional development
- A successful record of promoting partnerships and coalitions with business, government, public schools, senior colleges, universities and other groups
- Experience in a multi-campus setting, with an ability to lead in an environment that values and respects differences
- Successful record of initiating and responding to technological changes in a changing learning environment
- Experience in a large system with a senior leadership team is highly desirable
- Demonstrated success in advocating on behalf of the college with an ability to represent the college’s needs at all levels of government
- Evidence of effective leadership in supporting economic development and workforce training
- Successful experience working with a board of trustees
