Welcome to Instructional Design!

What is Instructional Design?

The mission of Instructional Design is to help faculty design instruction. Developing curriculum involves so much technology nowadays that it’s easy to assume we’re computer software trainers, but actually, our specialty is education curriculum and instruction. Our most common daily function is to assist instructors, one-on-one, in enhancing curriculum for presentation both in the classroom and online. So let us help you brainstorm how best to spark the interest of your students by tapping into the greatest variety of learning styles, while using the myriad technologies available to Blinn faculty and students.

Fall 2008 Focus

The focus in Instructional Design this fall will be the conversion to ecampus/Angel, including development of lessons in SoftChalk for ease of incorporation into ecampus. Podcasting (lecture capture) will be another hot topic. And finally, as we convert each department to utilize Exchange calendar-sharing, we’ll be showing you how to get the most out of that.
