Vision and Mission

To serve the youth of the Brazos Valley Partnership High Schools by offering them the opportunity to take college level courses—and succeed--through the College Tech-Prep offerings.

To provide them with the opportunity to develop their career decision-making skills and to make informed and better career decisions.

To encourage better working relationships between secondary and post-secondary educators, including counselors/advisors, teachers/instructors/professors, and administrators.

For the Partnership to be a bridge between the high school and the community college through a seamless transition between the two.

To assist in educating the youth of the Brazos Valley of the value of an post secondary education, i.e., certificates and/or an associate degree.

This year’s motto is:
“I’m Going to be Some Body: If you’ll provide me with:
~ the opportunities,
~ the proper tools, including trial & error,
~ and some measure of success.”

[these suggestions are from the THECB Recruitment & Retention Conference, Austin— June30 – July 2, 2003]

The Partnership can give our youth these tools through presentations, schools visits, career fairs, and other career decision opportunities.

The Partnership Board and Staff want the Partnership to be a value-added Program for Blinn College.

One element of this effort is through proper identification, working closely with other components of Blinn College, i.e., Recruitment & Retention and Department of Off-Campus Programs, to avoid duplication.

Continually educate legislators, local, state, and federal, as to the benefits of College Tech-Prep and other CATE courses/programs.

Continue to work with the US Navy to increase Blinn’s offerings for those who are militarily inclined—also the US Army and its Programs.

Continue to explore other Tech-Prep offerings to the youth of the Brazos Valley, i.e., Agriculture.

To help students to succeed, Succeed, SUCCEED at whatever their calling.

(***Personally, my mission is to help all students to succeed—one student at a time)
